Open Canvas for Penn Learners

Open Canvas for Penn Learners is a completely separate Canvas environment at Penn that hosts an array of courses and programs for Penn and its adjacent communities. This environment can host professional development courses, ongoing communities, and even conferences! 

Open Canvas differs from other Canvas environments at Penn in the following ways:

• A PennKey or Penn email address is not needed to login to Open Canvas
• Open Canvas is not connected to the University Registrar
• Different tools are available (see the Features & LTIs page)
• Courses hosted in Open Canvas may or may not be offered on Penn’s Online Learning Platform (see the Open Canvas Policies page)
