Logging In to Open Canvas

Before you login

There are two different ways to login to Open Canvas for Penn Learners: PennPath Users and Other Users. If you’re not sure which you are, this may help.

  • PennPath Users accounts are created when you register for a course via Penn’s Online Learning Platform. It is possible for users to create their own PennPath accounts, but this is not recommended.
  • Other Users accounts are created for users by the Online Learning Support Specialists.
  • If you are unsure which User type you are, please do not create an account for yourself or use the Chat button. Instead, email lib-opencanvas@pobox.upenn.edu for assistance.
